I grew up at the shore - whether the Jersey one or the outer banks.
It was while standing in the shallows down in Pine Knoll Shores, NC, - fighting a losing battle with the tides - that I learned the value and beauty in the chaos of Nature. It's not about conquering, it's about being a present part of what's happening. Turning sideways to let the wave pass over you.
