I went on my first camping trip when I was 8 years old. It was to a small Scout Camp in New Jersey called Quail Hill. I remember not having a good time. It was wet and muggy and I couldn't watch TV, but despite those enormous hurdles, I made it through the weekend. And when I got home, the strangest thing happened...
I wanted to go back.
I wanted to go back.
That was the beginning of my adventures and my love for nature. Looking back on that weekend of camping, boating, fishing & hiking, I realise, it was the first time I'd communicated with that mysterious power that would carry me through the rest of my life.
That communication defines my photography. I want to connect us to the deep love that exists in our world. Our relationship with our planet is the first love we knew as a species and we exist today, not on thrones, away, above, apart, but on the same ground we first walked.
I'm trying to retread those pathways. To reestablish my relationship to our history. To find those beautiful forgotten mementos.
And to share them with you in the hopes that together, we can walk this world anew.
